Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Simp Economy Exchange is a product of Crisis Logic, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. Simp Economy Exchange ("we", "us", "the Service") is a satirical financial-terminal website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Simp Economy Exchange is a product of Crisis Logic, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company, which is the data controller for personal data processed through this Service. You can reach us at admin@simpx.exchange for any privacy request.
2. Data we collect
- Email address — when you start a Pro subscription or apply to advertise, so we can grant access and contact you about your account/placement.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we store only a Stripe customer/subscription ID and your subscription status/renewal date.
- Sponsorship application details — brand name, link, message, optional logo, and pronunciation, submitted voluntarily to run an ad.
- Leaderboard handle — an optional, user-chosen public handle you submit; do not include personal info you don't want shown.
- Functional local storage — small values stored in your browser (your saved email, an "intro seen" flag, an AI-usage counter). These are necessary for the site to work and are not used for tracking or advertising.
- Limited technical data — standard server logs and an anti-abuse rate-limit keyed to a coarse request identifier.
We do not currently run analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking cookies.
3. How we use your data
- To provide Pro access and process subscription billing.
- To review, publish, and manage sponsorship placements and report anonymized performance.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service (including abuse prevention).
- To respond to your requests and send service/account messages.
4. Legal bases (GDPR/EEA & UK)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing Pro/advertising you signed up for), legitimate interests (running and securing the Service), consent (where requested, e.g. any future non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (e.g. tax/records for payments).
5. Service providers (processors)
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management (acts as our payment processor; see Stripe's privacy policy).
- Hosting & database — our cloud hosting/database provider stores Service data.
- AI text/voice generation — used to generate satirical commentary and broadcasts from market data only; we do not send your personal data (email, payment info) to these providers.
- Object storage — stores sponsor logos you upload.
6. Cookies & local storage
We use only strictly necessary/functional browser storage (described above). Stripe may set cookies on its own checkout/portal pages when you make a payment — that occurs on Stripe's domain under Stripe's policy. If we add analytics in the future, we'll update this policy and present a consent choice for non-essential cookies.
7. Data retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as your subscription is active and as required for legal/tax purposes, then delete or anonymize them. Anonymized, aggregated sponsorship statistics (with no names) may be retained indefinitely.
8. Your rights
EEA/UK (GDPR): you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to certain processing, and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right — including deletion — email admin@simpx.exchange from the address associated with your account. We will verify and respond within the timeframes required by law.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and Pro purchases require you to be 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
